Knauf Insulation Engages with McGregor, TX Community Ahead of New 600,000 Square Foot Manufacturing Facility

Immediately following last month’s annual Christmas parade, more than 900 McGregor residents and friends enjoyed a stroll through a traditional Christmas KindlMarket.  A staple in cities like Chicago, Denver, and Salt Lake City, McGregor had its first authentic German holiday market, thanks to Germany-based Knauf Insulation which announced in September a new 600,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility in McGregor. Since that announcement, the KindlMarket is one of the many ways the company, with North American operations based in Indiana, has made an effort to get to know the McGregor community.

In September, Knauf joined other local businesses in support of the McGregor Bulldogs’ new video scoreboard at the football stadium.  During the holidays, they extended their companywide coat drive, Share the Warmth, to the McGregor Firefighter Auxiliary.  On February 17, Knauf will be the lead sponsor for the Chamber of Commerce banquet where CEO Matt Parrish serving as the keynote speaker.  These efforts are spurred by genuine interest in getting to know the McGregor community and appreciation of the welcome the company has received from Central Texans.  “The warm welcome we’ve received from McGregor residents and leaders— and the immense interest in job opportunities— has been beyond even our best expectations,” said Knauf Insulation North America CEO Matt Parrish. “It further supports our decision that McGregor is the perfect community to partner for the future.”

The company has established a storefront window display in downtown McGregor at the corner of Main and Fourth Streets.  Here, residents can get information and updates on Knauf’s McGregor building progress and find details about the hiring process for key leadership roles at the facility.  Among the over 150 employees they plan to hire, an immediate search for Plant Manager, Human Resources Manager, and Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager are underway and can be applied for here.

Knauf plans to break ground on the manufacturing facility in April 2022.  “Knauf’s production facility in the McGregor Industrial Park will provide jobs and opportunities for the great people in this region and make a positive, lasting impact on our Central Texas community for years to come,” said Judge Scott Felton, McLennan County.
